What happens in a Soccer Shots session?
How do I sign up?
The enrollments are done online at osop.soccershots.com.
How and when are the classes?
Our classes are on-site at your child’s school, once a week. We set up our soccer island, bring the children that are enrolled and take them back to class after our 30 minutes class.
What does my child need to participate?
We don’t require any special soccer gear. Children can wear regular sneakers and each one will receive a Soccer Shots Jersey when enrolled. Our program is an inclusive program and we accept any child that is willing to have fun with us!
When can I sign up and how long is the season?
You can enroll whenever the registrations are open on our website. We usually have 16 weeks season in Fall and Winter/Spring, and 8 weeks season in Summer. But that may vary according to the school’s schedule. Check our website for specific information.
Can I sign up after the season starts?
Yes, you can! And the price will be automatically prorated. If your child won’t be able to attend anymore you can contact our office and we will cancel the following payments.
Can my child play more than once a week?
Yes, they can! Depending on the number of children we might have classes more than once a week at your school, but if not, we also have park programs that are open to the public. Check our website to see the options we have.
What kind of discounts do you offer?
We offer siblings discounts (20% for the 2nd, and 30% for the 3rd child), staff members of the school (30%), and if the child is enrolled to play 2 days per week, we offer 40% discount for the second day.
Do I have to pay a reg fee every season?
We charge a registration fee on the longer seasons (Fall and Winter/Spring), and every child will receive a Soccer Shots Jersey. We will have different color Jersey for those 2 seasons, and in Summer there’s no reg fee and the Jersey is optional.
Will every season be the same?
No, every season we will have different themes and games, and will introduce new soccer skills and character words and will also reviewing the ones they already learnt. The repetition is the key to learn any sport, so sometimes they might be practicing the same skill we will be using different games, activities and themes se they keep improving their ability, and learning.
Do you take pictures?
Yes, we usually take pictures 2-3 times per season. Pictures are taken by the coaches, so they are not professional pictures. It’s just a way to let our parents see a little bit of what’s happening on soccer island. We send a link to the parents to give them access to the pictures.
How can I know how my child is doing?
You can always reach out to us if you have any question for us or your child’s coach. If anything out of the ordinary is happening we will for sure contact the parents.
Do the coaches have background check?
Yes, of course! Our coaches have the DCF level II background check, the same one that school teachers have.
What’s the ratio of children per coach?
It varies depending on the age group. For our minis we work with a maximum of 8 children, and for classics and premier maximum of 12 children per coach. But our first priority is always the quality of the session and the safety of the children, so we may have a lower number of children per group.
Do they play games?
Soccer Shots is a curriculum based instructional soccer program. Our professional coaches prepare children to play in soccer games. We utilize creative and imaginative games to focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, teamwork and appreciation. The Classic Soccer Shots session (ages 3.5-5 years old) has around 20-25 min of practice time (warm up, soccer skill, fun games) plus 5-10 min of scrimmage/game time for the children to put what they are learning in to action but we are otherwise non-competitive, meaning that we don’t play games against other teams.
